Mobile Diesel Technician – Heavy Equipment / Class 8 Fleet
About The Position
OTC Fleet Services is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician to support our growing fleet customer base across Lancaster, York, and Berks County. This role is focused on consistent fleet work — not random retail jobs. You’ll be working independently in the field, diagnosing and repairing a wide range of commercial vehicles and equipment. You will report directly to our Field Operations Manager (Joe) and be part of a structured, fast-growing mobile service division. 🔥 What Makes This Role Different Take-home company service vehicle Steady fleet work (no slow days or retail chaos) Independence — no micromanagement Daily schedule planned ahead Mix of indoor + outdoor job sites Work on a variety of equipment and vehicles
Requirements
- 5+ years experience as a technician
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass DOT physical
- Must provide own hand tools
- Strong experience with diesel, gas, and/or equipment repair
- State Inspection License (preferred or required based on role)
- Strong diagnostic ability (this is not an entry-level role)
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills (REQUIRED)
- Ability to work independently and self-manage
- Comfortable working in mobile/on-site environments
- Takes pride in quality work and productivity
- Maintains a clean and organized service truck
Nice To Haves
- CDL (pay increase available)
- Welding / fabrication experience
- Experience with heavy equipment or hydraulic systems
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair (including but not limited to): Diesel, gas, and LP-powered vehicles, Medium & heavy-duty trucks (including Class 8), Equipment and fleet vehicles (including 6–48 volt systems)
- Perform: Preventative maintenance (PMs), Advanced diagnostics (electrical REQUIRED), Hydraulic repairs, Breakdown and roadside service
- Complete work orders using company-provided tablet/software (Fullbay)
- Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and work environment
- Deliver high-quality, efficient work for fleet customers
