This role is for a Mobile Diesel Technician Level 3 responsible for performing repairs and diagnostics on diesel engines, powertrains, electrical systems, HVAC, steering, electronics, engine bolt-on items, brake systems, suspension systems, and after-treatment devices. The technician will also perform preventive maintenance, reconditioning of equipment, and welding. Advanced skills with diagnostic software for specific engines and after-treatment repairs are required, along with proficiency in computer systems. The role involves identifying and performing warrantable repairs, using various hand and power tools, maintaining a safe work area, and road testing vehicles. Routine maintenance, inspecting defective equipment, adjusting safety devices, and verifying part specifications are also key functions. The technician will specialize in repairing major components and may provide direction and mentorship to other technicians. Ensuring compliance with DOT standards, documenting work, and processing transactions in the maintenance system are essential. The role may also involve fleet analyses and miscellaneous projects. Key performance measurements include safety, productivity (SRT times), truck uptime, driver satisfaction, and fleet satisfaction.
