About The Position

The Mobile Diesel Technician is responsible for performing on-site diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on diesel trucks and related equipment at customer locations or designated service areas. While the primary focus is diesel repair, this role also supports trailer maintenance and repair as part of overall service delivery. This position requires strong technical expertise, independent problem-solving, and a commitment to safety and customer service while representing the Company in the field.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of diesel repair experience
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • EPA 609 certification required for HVAC work
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication and customer service skills

Nice To Haves

  • Technical training a plus
  • Mobile experience preferred
  • Exposure to or experience with trailer repair a plus
  • CDL a plus
  • DOT inspection certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Welding/fabrication experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on diesel trucks and equipment in a mobile environment.
  • Identify issues quickly and complete repairs efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Support trailer repair and maintenance, including structural and component work such as doors, panels, floors, axles, and undercarriage.
  • Perform basic welding and fabrication as needed to complete repairs.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance and required inspections, including DOT inspections.
  • Ensure all vehicles and equipment meet safety and operational standards.
  • Diagnose and repair a wide range of systems, including diesel engines (fuel, air, cooling, exhaust), brake and wheel systems, electrical and lighting systems, suspension and steering, liftgates and hydraulics, and HVAC systems (EPA 609 certification required for A/C work).
  • Accurately document work performed, parts used, and labor hours.
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair needs, timelines, and recommendations.
  • Maintain organization and proper inventory of the mobile service truck, tools, and parts to ensure readiness for service calls.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Respond to service calls promptly, manage workload independently, and represent the company professionally at customer locations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
