About The Position

TravelCenters of America’s Truck Service team is seeking a Mobile Maintenance Technician to travel to customer facilities or distribution centers in a fully equipped mobile service unit. The technician provides accurate, efficient preventive maintenance and repair services for heavy-duty trucks and trailers by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles professionally and accommodatingly. The role includes recommending services to customers, understanding standard truck services and specialized customer programs, and following safety guidelines. Work may take place outdoors in all seasons and may involve loud noise, fumes, particles, vibration, dirt, dust, grease, oil, gas, and concentrated cleaning solutions. The position requires flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Requirements

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
• Ability to work in interior and exterior conditions.
• A valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Ability to pass an annual DOT physical examination.
• Ability to talk and hear regularly and occasionally stand, walk, kneel, stoop, bend, crouch, crawl, climb, and use legs repetitively.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and/or move heavy objects.

• Previous experience in a repair or parts shop.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer facilities or distribution centers to perform preventive maintenance services and repairs.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
• Provide accurate, efficient, professional, and accommodating service to customers.
• Understand Truck Service Standard Services and specialized customer programs.
• Understand the products and services offered and make recommendations to customers based on vehicle wear conditions.
• Follow safety guidelines and report potentially unsafe situations caused by team members or customers.
