About The Position

The Mobile Diesel Tech-Mechanic travels to customers’ facilities or distribution centers in a fully equipped mobile service unit to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and trailers. The role provides accurate, efficient, professional service by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles, while helping return travelers to the road in better condition. The technician also provides customer recommendations, follows applicable service programs, and adheres to safety guidelines. Work may take place outdoors in all seasons and in environments involving noise, fumes, particles, vibration, dirt, dust, grease, oil, and gas.

Requirements

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays, in interior and exterior conditions.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Ability to pass an annual DOT physical examination.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a repair or parts shop is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer facilities or distribution centers to perform preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
• Provide accurate, efficient, professional, and accommodating service to customers.
• Understand the products sold, services provided, Truck Service Standard Services, and specialized customer programs.
• Diagnose wear conditions and make recommendations to customers.
• Follow safety guidelines and report potentially unsafe situations caused by team members or customers.
