Requirements

  • Three years of actual truck repair experience needed.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and be insurable.
  • Valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate or ability to obtain.
  • A full complement of tools required for diesel equipment repair including wrenches and sockets to 1 ¼”, 3/8” and ½” drive air tools, floor creeper and a roll around tool cabinet.
  • Mechanics frequently lift up to 75 pounds and must have a full complement of tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Heavy equipment dealership experience is helpful in this job role; two years or more preferred.
  • CDL-A is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-road and customer on-site maintenance services by troubleshooting, diagnosing and performing preventative and corrective maintenance on heavy duty equipment.
  • Run diagnostic tests and analyze results.
  • Repair or replace vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systems.
  • Determine unit condition by conducting inspections & diagnostic tests, identifying deficiencies.
  • Able to read schematics for electrical and air systems.
  • Develop technical skills through training opportunities.
  • Test equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications; make necessary adjustments if required.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the mobile service truck.
