Requirements

Three years of actual truck repair experience needed.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Team player mentality.
Belief in safety first.
Must have valid driver’s license and be insurable.
Valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate or ability to obtain.
A full complement of tools required for diesel equipment repair including wrenches and sockets to 1 ¼”, 3/8” and ½” drive air tools, floor creeper and a roll around tool cabinet.
Mechanics frequently lift up to 75 pounds and must have a full complement of tools.

Nice To Haves

Heavy equipment dealership experience is helpful in this job role; two years or more preferred.
CDL-A is a plus.

Responsibilities

Conduct on-road and customer on-site maintenance services by troubleshooting, diagnosing and performing preventative and corrective maintenance on heavy duty equipment.
Run diagnostic tests and analyze results.
Repair or replace vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systems.
Determine unit condition by conducting inspections & diagnostic tests, identifying deficiencies.
Able to read schematics for electrical and air systems.
Develop technical skills through training opportunities.
Test equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications; make necessary adjustments if required.
Ensure the cleanliness of the mobile service truck.
