About The Position

We are seeking a Mobile Developer with significant experience in Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to join our team on a freelance, time & material basis. This role involves working on real client projects, developing mobile applications that communicate with devices. The initial engagement is for three months, with the potential for a permanent contract and full benefits if the collaboration is successful and aligns with business needs. Our company specializes in designing and co-creating connected devices since 2008, working with clients like Oura and BOSE. We are a fully remote, AI-native company of over 60 people, focused on long-term partnerships and building strong relationships within the team and with clients. This role is ideal for engineers who are proactive, enjoy solving complex problems, and are comfortable with direct client communication and utilizing AI as a daily tool.

Requirements

• 5+ years as a Mobile Developer.
• Strong hands-on BLE experience.
• Proficiency in Flutter AND at least one native platform (iOS/Swift or Android/Kotlin).
• Experience working with connected products (device pairing, real-time data streaming).
• Comfort working in short sprints (1-2 weeks) in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong communication skills with teammates and clients.
• English at B2+ level (written and spoken).
• Focus on product quality and user experience.
• Independence and ownership: flagging risks early and taking initiative.
• Experience using AI tools as a daily multiplier.

Nice To Haves

• Direct experience collaborating with firmware teams.
• Experience in medical devices or other regulated environments.
• Experience with testing strategies for BLE flows.
• Experience with OTA updates or provisioning flows.
• Genuine curiosity about the devices being built.

Responsibilities

• Own the mobile side of a connected-product project, including wearables, smart sensors, and health-tech devices.
• Design and implement robust BLE communication flows.
• Debug real-world device interactions, including challenging BLE issues.
• Collaborate closely with firmware engineers, backend developers, designers, QA, and project managers.
• Contribute to architectural and technical decision-making.
• Communicate directly with clients.
• Utilize AI tools as part of the daily workflow.
