About The Position

The DuPage County Health Department is looking for a CDL Licensed Driver with Air Brake certification to join our team. In this on call role, you will be driving our Brand-New Smile Squad Mobile Dental Clinic as well as our Mobil Medical Van. We are looking for someone with a CDL and Airbrake certification. This position has a flexible working hour schedule, Monday through Friday, working just under 1000 hours per fiscal year. The Smile Squad Mobile Dental Clinic is provided by an Illinois Children’s Health Care Foundation Grant and provides general dentistry to at-risk children. The Smile Squad offers a range of dental services in locations that are convenient for families to access and minimizes time lost from school and work.

Requirements

• CDL and airbrake certification

Responsibilities

• Safely transports the mobile dental clinic to and from a storage site to schools, community centers, and DuPage County Public Health Centers.
• Assists program staff which include dentists and dental hygienists, in setting up the mobile clinic and dental equipment in preparation for program events.
• Completes pre-operation and post-operation checks of the mobile clinic.
• Assists program staff in replenishing supplies, sanitizing equipment and rooms in between patients, and empties garbage at the program site.
• Assists patients and family members in safely entering and leaving the mobile clinic.
• Assists program staff in event clean-up and dental equipment and clinic storage at the conclusion of each event.
• Maintains a timely transportation schedule.
• May perform light office work at the dental clinic located at the Central Public Health Center in Wheaton to include filing, organization and reorganization of supplies and equipment.
• May assist DCHD Maintenance Staff to pick up and deliver portable dental equipment to school/off site locations
