About The Position

HealthDrive is currently seeking a Mobile Dental Assistant with Radiology Certificate to work Full-time (5 days per week) in the greater Toledo, Ohio and surrounding areas. HealthDrive delivers on-site dentistry, optometry, podiatry, audiology, and behavioral health services to residents in long-term care, skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. Requirements

High School graduate or GED.
Previous experience and/or externship experience required.
Must possess a current Radiology Certificate (or equivalent credential) to operate X-ray equipment; certificate must be verifiable at the start of each shift
Ability to stand, to bend, and to lift.
Ability to transport patients in wheelchairs.
Must be able to adhere to work schedule set by Dentist

Responsibilities

Prepares patients for dental procedures.
Assists Dentist during dental procedures.
Sterilizes or disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays and prepares materials.
Records treatment information in patient records.
Provides postoperative instructions prescribed by dentist.
Assists dentist in the management of medical or dental emergencies.
Instruct patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs.
Clean and polish removable appliances.
Make preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts.
Operates X-ray equipment only if holding a valid Radiology Certificate (see Qualifications)
Adheres to OSHA guidelines regarding patient care, disposal of materials, and sterilization of equipment on a daily basis.
Performs other duties as assigned.
