The Crane Operator is responsible for safely operating the Crane to provide operational support in an open pit coal mine by relocating and repositioning equipment and materials. This is a permanent, site-based position in the Elk Valley, near Sparwood, B.C. Successful candidates will have excellent interpersonal and communications skills and excel in a fast-paced, flexible work environment interacting with various trades. Requirements

Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Mobile Crane Operator Certification
Applicants require a Class 5 Driver’s License
Successful candidates must be willing to satisfy the pre-employment requirements of a pre-employment drug screen and references.

Nice To Haves

Mobile Crane Operator Hydraulic 300 ton and Under Certificate
Class 3 or Class 1 Drivers License would be considered an asset

Responsibilities

Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
Setup crane for lifting including mobilizing and stabilizing, calculating crane capacities, determining load weights and drafting lift plans
Operate conventional and hydraulic mobile Cranes, up to 300 ton, to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials
Ability to perform various types of rigging to efficiently complete minor to complex jobs
Perform routine maintenance work, such as cleaning and lubricating cranes
