About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Mobile Crane Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a diverse fleet of mobile cranes. Working closely with supervisors, site personnel, and project teams, you will execute lifting operations safely, efficiently, and in accordance with all regulatory requirements and company standards. Our fleet includes 20+ tonne boom cranes, an 80 tonne Terex AT crane, and a Grove 350 tonne crane with lifting capacities ranging from approximately 20 tonnes to 350 tonnes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience operating mobile cranes.
  • Valid 339A Mobile Crane Operator Certificate of Qualification (Red Seal).
  • Valid DZ driver's licence required; AZ licence is considered an asset.
  • Thorough understanding of crane load charts, lift planning, rigging practices, and safe lifting procedures.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment inspections and routine maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently while adapting to changing priorities and changing job site conditions.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
  • Driver's License and own vehicle required

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a variety of mobile cranes to complete lifting activities
  • Set up, inspect, and dismantle cranes in accordance with manufacturer specifications and site requirements.
  • Review lift plans, load charts, rigging configurations, and site conditions prior to each lift.
  • Perform safe lifting, positioning, loading, unloading, and placement of equipment and materials.
  • Monitor weather conditions, ground stability, and other environmental factors that may impact lifting operations.
  • Adapt lifting plans as site conditions change while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
  • Complete daily pre-operational inspections and document equipment condition.
  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor troubleshooting of assigned equipment.
  • Maintain accurate daily operating logs, inspection reports, and maintenance records.
  • Immediately report equipment deficiencies, hazards, or incidents.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, site personnel, and other team members to coordinate safe and efficient lifting operations.
  • Communicate effectively throughout all lifting activities to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Follow all Occupational Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and industry best practices.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by identifying hazards and participating in ongoing safety initiatives
