About The Position

The Mobile Clinic Driver is responsible for preparing the coach, powering up equipment, and ensuring doors and ramps are ready for patient use. This role involves preparing equipment for transport, maintaining accurate records of mileage and fuel purchases according to DOT regulations, and observing safety and security at all times. The driver must maintain a valid CDL, a clear driving record, and a valid medical examination. They will also assist management with record keeping related to the tractor trailer and notify service personnel when necessary. Additionally, the driver will assist clinical partners with patient care and other duties, including exam setup, linen replacement, coil selection and placement, supply preparation, and cleanup. Proficiency in software systems is required for monitoring patient histories, reviewing screening forms, and managing documentation.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Clean driving record.
3 years experience in driving tractor/trailers.
Approved CPR or BLS certification.
Maintain a valid driver license, Class A CDL.
For those driving Mercyhealth vehicles: Maintain a valid driver's license.
Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy.
For those driving their personal vehicles: Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with proof of vehicle insurance when requested.
Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Knowledge of Order processing systems.

Responsibilities

Prepares coach, powers up equipment and ensures that doors and ramps are ready for patient use.
Prepares equipment for transport to and from sites and anticipates arrival and set up as part of the preparation.
Maintains mileage and fuel purchase records, and driver log according to DOT regulations.
Observes safety and security at all times obeying laws and speed limits.
Maintains a valid CDL at all times.
Maintains a clear driving record.
Maintains a valid medical examination at all times and performs examination when due.
Understands and provides records pertaining to the tractor trailer.
Assists management with the record keeping of the tractor trailer.
Notifies the appropriate service personnel when necessary.
Assist clinical partner(s) with patient care and other duties when asked.
Assist with exam set up; replace linens, coil selection and placement, supply preparation, clean up.
Use software systems proficiently to assist in monitoring patient histories prior to appointment dates, review patient screening form, import/scan documentation, and export as necessary.
