About The Position

Ameren Missouri has been providing electric and gas service for more than 100 years, and our electric rates are among the lowest in the nation. Ameren Missouri's mission is to power the quality of life for our 1.2 million electric and 132,000 natural gas customers in central and eastern Missouri. Our service area covers 64 counties and more than 500 communities including the greater St. Louis area. This role involves representing the Company as a single point of contact with customers, builders, developers, and other Company representatives regarding service requests of low to moderate complexity. The position requires processing and monitoring customer applications for service from start to finish, designing assigned jobs in accordance with Company electric standards, and responding to inquiries from customers and electricians. The role also involves obtaining necessary approvals, easements, and rights-of-way, conducting field inspections, preparing estimates, plats, and drawings, and potentially using survey equipment. Special responsibilities include ensuring customer satisfaction, proper application and collection of service-related charges, protecting Company revenue, establishing accurate billing and operating records, and efficient use of Company resources. The employee will identify the most suitable method of service in the best interest of the Company and use Company equipment safely. A key aspect is protecting public safety by preventing or identifying unsafe electric facilities.

Requirements

  • A High School Degree, or equivalent.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license is required.
  • Pass Company’s EEI Technical Aptitude test is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of related experience in one of the following fields (CAD, field work, construction, surveying, technical drawing, electrical work, or related) preferred.
  • Completion of a minimum of three (3) credit hours in AC/DC Electricity from an accredited junior college, college or university or Company approved certificate program with a minimum grade level of "C" is preferred.
  • Complete one (1) semester of Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) 3 credit hours from an accredited junior college, college or university or Company approved certificate program with a minimum grade level of “C” is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design assigned jobs of low to moderate complexity in accordance with Company electric standards and candidate's experience.
  • Answer inquiries and respond to information requests from customers, electricians, and others regarding service facilities.
  • Provide accurate job information as required to the Design Center.
  • Prioritize and quickly respond to internal and external customers regarding service requests.
  • Provide the customer with information on rates, charges, programs, service requirements and other technical expertise as required.
  • Obtain all required customer approvals, easements, and rights-of-way as needed, to prepare appropriate contracts, permits, releases, plats and records.
  • Make field inspections and prepare material and labor estimates, plats and drawings for proposed construction.
  • As needed use survey equipment/tools, including transit and level.
  • Handle special requests as assigned.
  • Responsible for customer satisfaction with all facets of service work.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper application and collection of service-related charges and protection of Company revenue.
  • Implement Company policies for revenue guarantees and contributions to serve the best interest of the Company.
  • Responsible to ensure billing and operating records are properly established for all service work.
  • Responsible for efficient and effective use of Company resources.
  • Identify the method of service that is in the best interest of the Company.
  • Use Company equipment, when necessary, in a safe and prudent manner.
  • Protect public safety by preventing and/or identifying unsafe electric facilities.
