About The Position

The Student Engagement Specialist is responsible for planning and organizing student activities and programs under the Student Life division at RCTC. The Specialist leads the planning, developing, promoting, and evaluating programs and services that are focused on providing the diverse student body with opportunities for personal growth, community building, leadership development, with a major emphasis on recruitment, retention, student learning and the successful achievement of students’ academic and career goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two-year related professional work experience in education
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, think critically, and problem solve
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Effective human relations and communication skills (written, verbal and listening)
  • Experience with event planning
  • Experience with a variety of social media platforms
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Graphic design experience utilizing Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) or platforms such as Canva
  • Experience, working with, and addressing needs of a diverse student community
  • Experience working at a higher education institution
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
