Requirements
- College degree in Journalism (or equivalent experience).
- Experience from a professional news station.
- Comfortable with ENG equipment.
- Working knowledge of ENPS and Edius (or ability to learn quickly).
- Ability to thrive under pressure and deliver quality work when the clock is ticking.
- Ability to listen and authentically demonstrate care for the community on-air and online.
- Knowledge of how to use visuals and writing to make a story pop.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Responsibilities
- Generate original story ideas for both broadcast and digital platforms that reflect the unique spirit of Central Nebraska.
- Step behind the desk as a fill-in anchor, taking on producing and writing responsibilities to ensure a seamless, high-energy newscast.
- Create compelling content for our website and social media channels, reaching our audience wherever they are.
- Use industry-standard tools like ENPS and Edius to edit and produce high-quality visuals and scripts under tight deadlines.
- Represent Local4 at public functions and community events, building the relationships that lead to the best stories.
- Work with the award-winning team to push the boundaries of what local journalism can be in a digital-first world.
