About The Position

Responsible for procurement of blood and analytical evaluation of blood and other body fluids. All tests must be performed with accuracy and precision. Medical Laboratory Technicians must have working knowledge of laboratory instrumentation including operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. They must perform and record data from quality control procedures. The scope of patient care ranges from neonatal to geriatric patients.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited two year associate degree program in clinical laboratory science.
  • In lieu of associate degree, a certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology from a regionally accredited college or University and must be certified by ASCP or AMT.
  • Must become certified by passing a nationally recognized examination (ex. ASCP or AMT) within 1 year from date of hire if certification eligible.
  • Equivalent certification agencies may include NCA, military or state licensure if the employee is determined to meet the required education and related experience requirements as set forth in CLIA 88.
