About The Position

Performs diversified laboratory tests and procedures in assigned section(s) of the laboratory. Performs pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical procedures under minimal supervision. The posting includes qualifications for both Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) and Medical Laboratory Scientists (MLS).

Requirements

• For MLT: At least two years of college education and graduation from an approved MLT program or equivalent.
• For MLT: Some knowledge of laboratory testing procedures.
• For MLT: Some skill in performing various laboratory procedures and collecting specimens.
• For MLT: Good customer service skills.
• For MLS: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• For MLS: Thorough knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and equipment.
• For MLS: Considerable skill in performing laboratory tests and troubleshooting methodology and quality issues.
• For MLS: Effective communication skills and ability to lead a laboratory workgroup.
• No prior experience is required for graduates of an approved MLT program who are certification eligible.
• No prior work experience is required for graduates of an approved MT/MLS/CLS program who are certification eligible.
• Certification or equivalent is required within 12 months for those hired or transferred into the position on or after 3/1/2024; it is preferred for those hired before 3/1/2024.
