About The Position

Franciscan Health Lafayette East is seeking a per rotation needed (PRN) MLT/MT/Laboratory Scientist for their facility. This role is responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and reporting test results, including waived, moderate, and high complexity tests. The individual will also participate in quality control, comply with quality assurance and management standards, and perform specimen collection as needed. Requirements

• MLT: Associates degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• MT: Bachelor degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university.
• Or Bachelor degree in chemical, physical or biological sciences.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Specimen processing

• Reporting results of all tests performed according to established procedures
• Participating fully in all quality control procedures
• Complying with quality assurance and quality management standards within the department as outlined by the department, JCAHO, CAP, CLIA and other applicable agencies
• Performing specimen collection as necessary
