About The Position

Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO) is seeking a Part Time MLS/MLT I to join their team in Owasso, OK. This float position requires 12 hours per week, with 1-2 weekend shifts per month and availability for some weekday coverage. The role involves performing routine testing in various laboratory departments, assisting with specimen processing, following policies, and performing instrument maintenance. A key responsibility is duties within the clinical laboratory, with additional duties including assisting the supervisor/manager with special projects.

Requirements

• Good understanding of laboratory procedures.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems, to identify cause and synthesize alternatives.
• Clear and effective communication.
• Ability to react positively with coworkers.
• Ability to use independent judgement to solve problems.
• Able to manage time, prioritize, and delegate.
• BS in chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science/medical laboratory technology; Previously qualified as a technologist under 42 CFR 493.1489
• ASCP or equivalent exam eligible within 1-3 years
• Keyboard skills are important.
• Good customer service skills, professional appearance and attitude are required.

Nice To Haves

• Good computer skills a plus.
• Knowledge in Epic and MediaLab is a plus.
• MLT/MLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine testing in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, serology, coagulation, molecular, and blood bank.
• Assist with specimen processing as needed.
• Follow employer and hospital policies.
• Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Main responsibility will be duties in the clinical laboratory.
• Additional duties will include assisting supervisor/manager with special projects/assignments.
