About The Position

Join Capital One’s innovative Card Tech team as a Machine Learning Engineer, supporting critical initiatives for Small Business Card, Acquisitions, and Partnerships. Work on impactful projects including credit card decisioning, fraud tracking, and risk assessment. This hybrid position (3 days onsite) is available in McLean, VA or NYC, NY. Experience rapid hiring with a single, focused interview process.

Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in Python for ML applications
• Deep knowledge of AWS (Solutions Architect level: ECS, EC2, etc.)
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes
• Experience in building and deploying ML models in production environments
• Expertise in Spark, Pandas, NumPy, and PySpark

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency with Kubeflow
• Data analysis experience using SQL
• Familiarity with ML tooling (mlplot, Databricks)
• AWS Solutions Architect Certification

Responsibilities

• Architect, train, and deploy robust machine learning models in AWS cloud environments
• Collaborate closely with data scientists and cross-functional teams for R&D and pipeline standardization
• Leverage Kubernetes and Kubeflow for ML pipeline design, model training, and batch model serving
• Support integration projects across multiple enterprise groups
• Drive innovation in credit card decisioning, fraud tracking, and risk assessment models
• Maintain and optimize data workflows with Spark, PySpark, Pandas, and NumPy
• Enable seamless partner application support (Kohl’s, BJs, etc.)
