About The Position

Wipro is seeking an ML Engineer to build and improve National Grid’s AI Platform, with a primary focus on designing and implementing the core REST API that powers the platform. The role collaborates with IT teams, including security and cloud teams, to deliver a reliable, secure, and easy-to-use platform for AI teams.

The position involves end-to-end feature delivery across APIs, databases, infrastructure, and deployment pipelines, as well as maintaining and improving an existing codebase. The engineer is expected to produce maintainable, well-tested code, technical documentation, and handovers, and to communicate architecture decisions and technical trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders. The job is located in Waltham, Massachusetts.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience.
• Python and asynchronous REST API development using FastAPI.
• Relational database design.
• Infrastructure automation using Terraform.
• Strong Microsoft Azure experience, including identity and access management, secrets management, and private networking.
• Git, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and error-handling skills.
• Experience implementing logging, monitoring, and observability practices.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Experience delivering production backend services, cloud platforms, or self-service infrastructure tooling.
• Ability to collaborate with security, cloud, and networking teams to meet enterprise requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with Azure Machine Learning, Microsoft Foundry, and MLOps practices.
• Experience supporting AI and machine learning teams.
• Experience in energy, utilities, or other regulated enterprise environments.
