About The Position

Griffith Foods is seeking a Mixing Operator for their Weekend Shift in Scarborough, ON. This role is responsible for gathering, verifying, and combining ingredients according to formulas and the production schedule, ensuring accuracy in materials and weights. The operator will use mixing equipment, perform basic troubleshooting, and manage material consumption through ERP systems. Maintaining cleanliness, equipment sanitation, and safety compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is crucial, including cleaning equipment after each mix and adhering to all safety protocols. The position also involves preparing production documentation, quality samples, and coordinating with other departments to manage materials and resolve discrepancies. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring the use of an N95 respirator.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to perform physical job tasks safely and effectively.
Basic math skills.
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently, including comprehension of instructions, correspondence, and memos, and the ability to communicate effectively.
Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Must be able to wear an N95 respirator and pass fit-testing.

Responsibilities

Gathers, verifies, and combines ingredients per formulas and production schedule, ensuring all materials and weights are accurate.
Operates mixing equipment (e.g., ribbon blender) using control panels and follows detailed manufacturing instructions.
Performs basic troubleshooting and uses ERP systems to issue and track material consumption.
Maintains cleanliness, equipment sanitation, and safety compliance in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), including cleaning equipment after each mix and following all safety protocols.
Coordinates with departments and shift teams to manage materials, resolve discrepancies, and track production schedules.
Prepares production documentation, quality samples, and ensures proper sign-offs and product transfer.
Handles physical tasks such as heavy lifting, scooping, bending, standing, and operating equipment like forklifts.
