About The Position

The Mixing Team Lead role requires an individual with an excellent grasp of the team's work and a thorough understanding of the tasks and activities of a lead. As a mixing team lead, you will be the primary contact for your team members, necessitating excellent communication skills. You should also be proactive in ensuring smooth team operations and effective collaboration. Ultimately, the goal is to lead by example and engage the team to achieve objectives. The team lead supervises a team of workers performing various functions within the department. This role works closely with the team leader to create work schedules, schedule routine tasks, and determine other necessary activities. The team lead is responsible for ensuring all aspects of operations function smoothly.

  • Knowledge of best practices for material transfer and spill prevention.
  • Awareness of city of Austin regulations regarding empty totes and drums.
  • Compliance with Permalite policies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that safety processes and procedures are always being followed by all team members, including Lockout Tagout, PPE, Forklift safety, safe lifting, confined space, and utility knives.
  • Maintaining mixtures that are tested and approved for production runs 24 hours in advance unless otherwise approved by management.
  • Ensuring that mixtures released to production runs are filtered and meet the mixture specifications listed on the mixture NMA.
  • Ensuring all NMA batches are updated with lot numbers and percentage solids before starting a new mixture for all shifts.
  • Ensuring minimum stock levels for chemistries and mix stocks for making mixes.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of all mixing vessels and pumping systems prior to use to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Maintaining department and equipment cleanliness.
  • Ensuring that the team uses best practices when transferring material to vessels or other containers to avoid spills and dirtying the floor.
  • Ensuring no poly bags are left on a tote after transfers.
  • Ensuring that empty filters are placed in a double bag before disposal.
  • Ensuring no mixes are left in filters at any time.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of the empty totes area on the East side of the building.
  • Ensuring that empty totes and drums outside the building are always empty and capped to comply with city of Austin regulations.
  • Ensuring that team members are complying with Permalite policies.
  • Reporting any issues or employee concerns to the Supervisor.
  • Performing other duties and/or projects as assigned.
