About The Position

The Mixing Team Lead role is one where the individual must have an excellent grasp of the work of the team and understanding of the tasks and activities of a lead. As a mixing team lead, you will be the contact point for your team members, so your communication skills should be excellent. You should also be able to act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration. Ultimately, you should lead by setting a good example and engage the team to achieve goals. A team lead leads a team of workers that perform various functions in the department. The team lead works closely with the team leader to create work schedules for the team, schedules routine tasks, and determines what else needs to be done. The team lead is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of operations function smoothly.

  • Knowledge of best practices for transferring materials to avoid spills
  • Awareness of city of Austin regulations regarding empty totes and drums
  • Familiarity with Permalite policies

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that safety process and procedures are always being followed by all the team members. Some examples are listed below: Lockout Tagout, PPE, Forklift, Safe lifting, Confined space, Utility knives
  • Maintaining mixtures which are tested and approved for production runs 24 hours in advance unless otherwise approved by management.
  • Ensuring that mixtures released to production runs are filtered and they meet the mixture specifications listed on mixture NMA.
  • Ensuring all NMA batches are updated with lot numbers and percentage solids before starting a new mixture for all shifts.
  • Ensuring we have minimum stock levels for chemistries and mix stocks for making mixes.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of all mixing vessel and pumping systems prior to using them to prevent cross contamination.
  • Always ensure department and equipment cleanliness.
  • Ensuring that the team uses best practice when transferring material to vessels or other containers to avoid spills and dirtying the floor. No poly bags to be left on a tote after transfers.
  • Ensuring that empty filters are placed in a double bag before disposing them. No mixes left in filters at any time.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of the empty totes area on the East side of the building.
  • Ensuring that empty totes and drums outside the building are always empty and capped to comply with the city of Austin regulations.
  • Ensuring that team members are complying with Permalite policies.
  • Report any issues or employee concern to Supervisor.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
