Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise batch instructions and safety procedures.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
Basic math and measurement skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision once trained.
Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime when required.
Ability to stand for long periods during the shift.
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds repeatedly.
Ability to bend, twist, reach, and safely perform repetitive manual tasks.
Comfort working around rubber odors, dust, and industrial noise.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in rubber manufacturing, Banbury mixing, open milling, or machine operation is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Operate, monitor, and maintain rubber mixing mill equipment and Banbury mixing systems in accordance with safety and quality standards.
Weigh, measure, and load rubber, chemicals, and additives according to formulas and batch sheets.
Mix rubber compounds to specified hardness, consistency, and quality requirements using open mills and Banbury mixing cycles.
Set up, operate, and adjust Banbury mixer controls, including ram pressure, rotor speed, mix timing, and discharge procedures.
Inspect rubber batches visually, physically, and by temperature to check uniformity, dispersion, and properties.
Safely sheet out, cool, and process Banbury-mixed batches through mills when required.
Accurately record production, batch, temperature, and materials data for mill and Banbury operations.
Set up mills, adjust roll speeds, maintain appropriate temperatures, and ensure Banbury mixers operate within required tolerances.
Clean and lubricate equipment, perform minor maintenance, and promptly report mechanical or safety concerns.
Handle raw materials and chemicals safely, following hazard communication and PPE guidelines.
Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow safety procedures, including lockout/tagout.
Assist other production departments as needed to meet deadlines and production goals.
