About The Position

This position involves operating all equipment in the department, including mixers, pumps, lifts, hoists, bowl cutters, scales, cabbage spinners, and cross-fed belts. The role requires assembling and disassembling equipment, practicing strict sanitation and GMP practices to ensure food-safe products are manufactured. Responsibilities include gathering, prepping, and accurately weighing fresh ingredients, following recipes, monitoring temperatures, and gathering samples for quality control. The operator will also maintain run sheets for cost accounting, track inventory of fresh ingredients, and document environmental concerns for QA and USDA. Accurate documentation on quality, production, and sanitation is essential, as is providing timely and accurate communication to the salad room operator concerning production needs.

Requirements

  • Experience operating mixers, pumps, lifts, hoists, bowl cutters, scales, cabbage spinners, and cross-fed belts
  • Knowledge of sanitation and GMP practices
  • Ability to accurately gather, prep, and weigh ingredients
  • Skill in following recipes
  • Ability to monitor temperatures
