What You'll Do as a Disaster Services Consultant 2 Under the direction of the Chief, Mitigation Branch, coordinates & monitors the agency's participation in grant programs (e.g., federal & state mitigation & disaster assistance programs) through the administration of the Hazard Mitigation Assistance grant programs, & other federal & state programs; Works with state agencies & local governments to develop partnerships with all levels of government, the private sector, & voluntary organizations to create & maintain a comprehensive state mitigation program; Assists local political jurisdictions to develop mitigation plans & projects that meet federal regulations & state requirements; Provides training to state & local officials on mitigation planning, programs & procedures & processes related to effective management & monitoring of mitigation plans & projects to ensure compliance with federal regulations; Monitors work of, & assists in training of Disaster Relief Grant Employees during disaster mitigation operations; Click here to see full position description
