About The Position

Amentum is seeking a highly motivated, self-starting Risk Mitigation Specialist/Officer. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information, including the ability to maintain a Top Secret-SCI clearance. This role involves preparing, implementing, and overseeing routine to moderately complex Risk Management Strategies (RMSs) that address risk indicators. These RMSs must meet prescribed quality standards and provide appropriate focus, depth, and breadth of information based on individual task circumstances. They should clearly convey chosen treatments for each risk indicator, the rationale behind each treatment, and any residual risk requiring action by an outside party. The specialist will ensure RMSs adhere to applicable internal style guides before dissemination. The role also includes actively managing and overseeing a portfolio of companies operating under mitigation, providing technical direction and feedback to government and contractor staff, other internal parties, and external parties on business and security risks, available mitigation measures, unmitigated residual risks, and related processes. Additionally, the specialist will provide coaching, training, and mentoring to less experienced Risk Mitigation Officers (RMOs), conduct peer reviews of RMSs drafted by junior staff, and identify areas for improvement in workflow, product format, training needs, and internal guidance, implementing solutions for leadership's consideration. Workload management tasks include providing appropriate suspense dates based on case prioritization, monitoring completion status, ensuring deadlines are met, and realigning work as needed. The specialist will manage competing priorities when current staff is unavailable to meet customer requirements, actively monitor individual metrics against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and prepare timely dissemination of performance metrics to supervisors. Responding to requests for information from internal and external government customers and participating in conferences and meetings to brief on risk management mission matters are also key responsibilities. The contractor must review and process NISP, DESP, or Section 847 risk management actions in accordance with established DoD instructions and DCSA guidance, conduct activities to support analysis actions under government oversight, and produce written products within specified time intervals. Maintenance of existing implemented strategies (e.g., supplements, Outside Directors/Proxy Holders) and completion of risk management actions with industry and government stakeholders are required. Workload management and written product delivery involve setting appropriate suspense dates based on KPIs, case prioritization, monitoring completion, ensuring deadlines and quality requirements are met, and realigning work. The role requires reviewing DCSA all-source products, open-source research, company-submitted materials, and government databases related to U.S. and foreign companies and their affiliations to produce Risk Management Strategies (RMSs) and Source Packages (SPs). Some locations may require local travel within the U.S. The position requires working both independently and with teams.
