About The Position

ISO New England is seeking a Mitigation Enhancement Analysis Intern to join their Internal Market Monitoring team. This internship offers the opportunity to apply analytical skills to the complex electricity system in New England. The intern will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, build data visualizations, and gain experience supporting competitive wholesale electricity markets and the region's energy future. The role involves examining data and market behavior, supporting market-power mitigation rules, analyzing market data for trends, creating visualizations, and evaluating market results to support fair energy prices. The internship aims to provide practical knowledge of wholesale electricity markets and ISO New England's role in the energy transition, ultimately helping to understand market outcomes and participant behavior to ensure reliable electricity.

Requirements

Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Experience working with large or complex data sets and drawing useful insights
Ability to communicate findings clearly through visuals and concise explanations
A self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented approach
Curiosity, initiative, and the ability to collaborate effectively on a team
Rising senior

Responsibilities

Partner with economists, financial analysts, engineers, and data scientists to support the implementation of market-power mitigation rules.
Pull, organize, and analyze complex market data to identify trends and meaningful insights.
Create clear, accessible visualizations and summaries for colleagues and management.
Evaluate market results and market-participant behavior to support fair, competitive energy prices.
