About The Position

The Maritime & Intermodal Training Department (MITD) Operations Specialist supports the USA Transportation Corps by preparing briefings, spreadsheets, data downloads, and system input. This role involves gathering data and information related to training, supporting administrative staff with Army systems, and tracking training statistics. The specialist will coordinate and schedule internal and external support requests for training facilities and resources, ensuring timely acquisition of necessary support like bus and vessel services to prevent training failures.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years' experience working in Operations, including in the headquarters of a senior-level administrative directorate of a military organization (e.g., Brigade, Battalion, US Army School headquarters, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing written correspondence according to current US Army standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and updating spreadsheets and tracking data.
  • Demonstrated experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated experience in tracking all incoming and outgoing suspense actions for a large headquarters type organization (400 personnel or more).
  • High school graduate or GED.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems, and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to complete and pass a government-issued NACI background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with 719s/7140s.
  • Experience with the Range Facility Management Support System (RFMSS).
  • Experience with the Fleet Area Control and Surveillance Facility, Virginia Capes (FACSFAC VACAPES) system.
  • Experience with JBL-E Mission Support Group Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare briefings, spreadsheets, data downloads, and system input.
  • Support department staff in gathering data and information related to training.
  • Support administrative staff with information specific to Army systems and data collection.
  • Track training statistics and update daily established spreadsheets.
  • Coordinate and schedule all internal and external support requests for classrooms, training devices, graduation hall, and other training facilities.
  • Request and coordinate external training resources, including bus and vessel support, in a timely manner to avoid training failure.
