About The Position

The function of the Missouri Program Director plays a vital role in the Missouri region by providing both administrative support to staff as well as providing direct therapy services with consumers. Their objective is to oversee the Missouri program while ensuring that therapists are equipped with the necessary resources and guidance to deliver effective services to consumers.

Requirements

  • Must have proven commitment in the belief that all people with disabilities are entitled to full community inclusion.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities in independent living settings.
  • Must be a self-starter, have excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize and have a track record at finding innovative solutions to difficult problems.
  • Ability to deal professionally with all members of team and all outside entities including consumers’ families and/or guardians.
  • The ability to engage and collaborate with state waiver managers, legislators, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Must be flexible with scheduling and be able to change from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent computer proficiency.
  • Competence with Excel, PowerPoint, and other general technology.
  • Requires good verbal skills and listening ability; ability to speak to large groups of people.
  • Must be open to occasional travel.
  • Must be able to read and write lengthy reports when required.
  • Reliable transportation in and around the community.
  • Successful completion of an accredited program in Occupational therapy, Physical therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Must be currently licensed in the state of Kansas or Missouri at the time of hire and obtain licensure in the other state upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Missouri Brain Injury Waiver program, including its services, provider requirements, and participant eligibility criteria.
  • Provide support to teams and ensure adherence to all philosophical principles and aspects of service delivery.
  • Ensure consumers receive high-quality customer service by responding to concerns, resolving issues promptly, and promoting a positive consumer experience.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices related to brain injury waiver programs and incorporate this knowledge into Missouri program development and improvement efforts.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration among therapists, teams, and program participants to ensure a cohesive and inclusive service delivery approach.
  • Provide constructive feedback and performance reviews for therapists and teams to support their professional growth and development.
  • Assist as needed with intakes for new referrals requesting services in Missouri.
  • Compile and send reports as requested to state waiver managers/service coordinators and Vice President of Services.
  • Collaborate across departments with the Director of Intake Coordinators, Authorizations, and Billing to coordinate service delivery.
  • Participate in regular training, conferences, and webinars on disability, benefits, brain injury services, and related issues.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to serve on agency and interagency task groups as requested.
  • Encourage consumer self-advocacy and provide systems advocacy as it relates to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Educate community members and organizations on systems change and inclusion on a regular basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Vice President of Services.
