About The Position

The Phase 2 Mission Systems Action Officer will provide support to the DRPM Submarine AUKUS Integration & Acquisition (I&A) Program Office. Responsibilities will include strategic planning and coordination of program-wide execution activities, correspondence management, supporting development of integrated plans, event/travel coordination, supporting fleet and supporting establishment (including inter-agency) integration with the AUKUS program, and facilitating integrated schedule and risk analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 5+ years of government or military related experience.
  • Service onboard a US nuclear-powered warship, experience working in NAVSEA, Team Submarine, Undersea Warfare Center, or similar experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook software.
  • Ability to analyze complex organizational and programmatic issues and develop actionable solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills; including the ability to prepare professional reports, briefs, and presentations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency drafting and editing correspondence, documents, briefings, instructions, policies in accordance with the Navy Correspondence Manual and style guides.
  • High comfort level working with and around all military/organizational levels, clients, customers, suppliers, and visitors.
  • Must be highly reliable and demonstrate personal initiative to operate in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Demonstrate ability to be a team player; works well with others; contributes positively to work/team environment and continually seeks ways to enhance contribution to the team.
  • Handles differing situations, problems, and deviations in the work office according to general instructions, priorities, duties, policies and program goals.

  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain a DoD Security Clearance and required access to all worksite locations.

  • Experience with US Navy submarine operations and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Support strategic planning efforts for Phase 2 Mission Systems, including development, integration, and synchronization of program-wide execution activities.
  • Coordinate and track action items, program initiatives, and cross‑functional tasks in support of the AUKUS I&A Program Office.
  • Prepare, manage, and route official correspondence, reports, briefs, and decision documents across DRPM Submarines, fleet stakeholders, resource sponsors, and inter‑agency partners.
  • Develop, maintain, and refine integrated program plans, including execution roadmaps, schedules, and risk management artifacts.
  • Facilitate integrated schedule reviews and risk analysis efforts by collecting data, analyzing impacts, and preparing summary assessments for leadership.
  • Plan, coordinate, and support meeting, event, and travel logistics for domestic and international engagements with Navy, DoW, partner nation, and industry stakeholders.
  • Support fleet, partner nation, and interagency integration by coordinating tasking, gathering operational inputs, and ensuring alignment with AUKUS program objectives.
  • Engage with international partners and foreign military representatives to assist with coordination, requirements integration, and communication of program activities, within security and policy constraints.
  • Monitor execution across mission systems areas; identify issues, risks, and gaps; and recommend mitigation strategies and corrective actions.
  • Prepare and deliver presentation materials, updates, trackers, and briefing products to enable informed decision‑making by leadership.
  • Collaborate with DRPM Submarines, TYCOMs, PAEs, industry partners, and inter‑agency organizations to align activities, ensure effective communication, and maintain program cohesion.
  • Maintain awareness of submarine operations, maintenance concepts, and nuclear‑powered warship support considerations to inform program planning and execution.
  • Ability to work on-site at KMS HQ in Alexandria, VA up to full time with frequent local travel to the WNYD based upon the needs of the client.
