About The Position

Patient Engagement Advisors (PEA) is seeking a full-time Mission Control Diet Specialist to work remote assisting CHN patients in the Indianapolis area. Must be available to work on-site in the Indianapolis area related to business needs. The schedule involves 4 hour, 8 hour and/or 12 hour shifts between the hours of 7:00 am - 7:00 pm Monday-Friday with weekend and holiday rotation. Hours are subject to change related to business needs. This role encourages patients to play an active role in their patient care experience, with most of the day spent interacting with patients. You will work collaboratively as a critical part of the clinical care team. PEA offers unique career path options that allow Mission Control Diet Specialists to grow and develop.

Requirements

High School Education or equivalent preferred
6 months of diet office experience/customer service/call center/patient care technician/ nursing assistant/other healthcare or medical experience required
Hospital Nutrition/Dietary experience preferred
Other related hospital experience or advanced education will be considered
Ability to work a flexible and/or rotating schedule, including, but not limited to, nights, weekends, and holidays
Intermediate computer skills required. Ability to type 34-40 wpm
Web-based tools (including, but not limited to, nutrition information systems, and clinical/EMR Systems, Excel)
Must be able to navigate applications on an iPad

Responsibilities

Communicate with patients via phone to assist them in selecting menu items during their hospitalization
Recognize high risk indicators and work with patients to encourage them to adhere to dietary orders
Communicate with dietitians, nursing staff, food and nutrition services management team, host/hostess, and other co-workers to better serve the patient’s needs
