Millennium Space Systems, a part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security, is a fast, agile small satellite company focused on national security space. The Mission Analysis Engineering team develops Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) and Design Reference Missions (DRMs) from customer requirements; models and simulates satellites, constellations, and systems of systems; and designs and integrates mission data processing algorithms, such as EO/IR image processing and inertial tracking. The team validates mission concepts and predicted technical performance metrics, and leads end-to-end software integration, validation, and testing. As a member of the team, the engineer contributes to modeling, simulation, and analysis for a program, study, or proposal. The role develops methods to simulate mission scenarios and assess end-to-end constellation capabilities; designs and deploys image-processing, inertial-tracking, state-estimation, and optimal-control algorithms for sensor systems; and provides tools and modeling platforms to validate system performance during on-orbit mission operations. The engineer works with technical and program leadership to deliver high-quality work on time and ensure proposed mission solutions meet customer needs. The position is part-time and expected to be 100% onsite at one of the listed location options. Applicants must meet U.S. export-control requirements as a U.S. Person. Applicants must be eligible and willing to apply for and maintain a security clearance; the posting also states that security clearance is not required for this position. The role is subject to the company’s Conflict of Interest assessment process. The position is not contingent upon a program award, and the employer will not sponsor employment visas.
