About The Position

The Miscellaneous Operator works in the Raw Material Unloading department and is responsible for operating a dunnage machine, unloading and storing raw materials, maintaining material inventory, and emptying trash hoppers throughout the plant. The role requires operating and inspecting forklifts, waste trucks, man lifts, and other mobile equipment. The operator also helps maintain a safe, orderly work area and may troubleshoot minor production issues or adjust machines and processes to keep products within specifications. The position is listed as a rotating day shift, 8 hours from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., at a stated pay rate of $27.50 per hour, which may be adjusted based on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

Operate the dunnage machine.
Unload raw material trucks, including trucks carrying paper and glass mat rolls.
Stack and store raw materials in the warehouse.
Empty trash hoppers throughout the plant.
Operate forklifts, waste trucks, man lifts, and other mobile equipment, and inspect equipment before use.
Count inventory of raw materials.
Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work area.
Troubleshoot minor issues in the production process.
Make machine and process adjustments to ensure products meet required specifications.
Recognize unsafe conditions or hazards in the work area and follow plant safety rules and practices.
