About The Position

The Miscellaneous Laborer (ML) performs routine housekeeping and cleaning throughout Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative to support safe, efficient operations. Work includes shoveling, sweeping, vacuuming floors, pressure washing screens, re-melting sugar, removing garbage, and other manual labor. The position works in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments, cross-trains and performs work in station positions, and assists with beet and sugar cleanup. The ML uses equipment including shovels, squeegees, water hoses, poke rods, brooms, wheelbarrows, forklifts, and skid loaders. The position requires respirator training and fit testing, and the ability to lift 50 pounds routinely throughout a 12-hour shift. The ML must know safe operating procedures, personal protective equipment requirements, and quality standards, and complete required training and Job Safety Analyses before operating equipment or performing position tasks. Other duties may be assigned, and overtime is worked.

Requirements

Ability to lift 50 pounds routinely throughout a 12-hour shift.
Respirator training and fit testing required.
Knowledge of safe operating procedures, personal protective equipment, and quality standards.
Ability to complete required training and Job Safety Analyses to operate equipment or perform position tasks.

Responsibilities

Perform routine housekeeping and cleaning throughout the facility.
Shovel, sweep, and vacuum floors.
Pressure wash screens.
Re-melt sugar.
Remove garbage and perform other manual labor to support safe, efficient operations.
Work in indoor and outdoor environments.
Cross-train and perform work in station positions.
Assist with beet and sugar cleanup.
Operate or use shovels, squeegees, water hoses, poke rods, brooms, wheelbarrows, forklifts, and skid loaders.
Complete required training and Job Safety Analyses before operating equipment or performing position tasks.
Perform other duties as directed.
Work overtime.
