About The Position

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking a Miscellaneous Labor team member in Fairfield to support its manufacturing operation. The role works with production personnel to increase productivity and reduce downtime and waste, and includes assisting with jobs throughout the plant floor and taking an active role in plant and facilities-related work.

The employee must follow company safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures and maintain the shop and shop equipment according to 5S Standards. The position may require stacking parts weighing up to 30 pounds for up to 12 hours. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• Passion for maintaining a safe work environment.
• Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Willingness to work closely with other production personnel on a day-to-day basis.
• Ability to share ideas with others to solve important problems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a cross-functional team environment.
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency to reduce machine downtime.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team in support of the manufacturing operation, with the goal of increasing productivity and decreasing downtime and waste.
• Take an active role in overall plant and facilities-related work.
• Assist with all jobs on the plant floor.
• Follow company safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures.
• Maintain the shop and shop equipment according to 5S Standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Stack parts weighing up to 30 pounds for a period of up to 12 hours, if required.
