About The Position

A well-established global leader in drilling services, equipment, and technology is seeking experienced Shop & Field Mechanics to support its fleet of drill rigs and related support equipment. With more than a century of experience supporting the mining and exploration industries, this organization offers long-term stability, strong earning potential, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities to develop highly specialized technical skills. This position is based out of a Glendale, Arizona facility and combines shop-based repairs and overhauls with travel to field locations. Field assignments typically operate on a 14-days-on, 7-days-off hitch schedule, with significant overtime opportunities. As a Shop & Field Mechanic, you will inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a diverse fleet of drill rigs and support equipment in both shop and field environments.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of professional mechanic experience.
  • Experience reading electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Strong hydraulic troubleshooting and repair capabilities.
  • Diesel engine and fuel system diagnostic experience.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to obtain a CDL.
  • Ability to obtain required MSHA/OSHA certifications.
  • Must have your own tools.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background and drug screening.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding mechanical work.
  • Ability to work 50+ hours per week, including scheduled overtime.
  • Willingness to travel and work a 14-days-on / 7-days-off schedule, including long days and varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain drill rigs and related support equipment.
  • Troubleshoot diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and high-pressure pneumatic systems.
  • Diagnose hydraulic issues involving pumps, manifolds, cylinders, hoses, and related components.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, and complete equipment overhauls.
  • Respond to field breakdowns and perform efficient repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • Perform basic welding and fabrication as required.
  • Repair and maintain electric-powered and diesel-powered hydraulic equipment.
  • Work closely with operators, supervisors, and safety personnel to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair documentation.
  • Follow all company, MSHA, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements.
