Requirements

BS degree in Mining Engineering or Geology
Two (2) to five (5) years working as a Mining Manager / Engineer. Prior experience with open pit mining required.
Self-motivated and results driven.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong planning and problem-solving skills.
Solid computer skills including Surpac Mining Software and MS Office.
Requires physical dexterity to navigate through and around various job conditions, including climbing, walking on less-than-optimal surfaces, etc.
Must be able to tolerate noise, dust, and dirty conditions

Nice To Haves

AutoCAD knowledge is a plus

Responsibilities

Developing and updating mining plans in cooperation with corporate mining personnel.
Providing support to quarry personnel on mining and crushing operations as needed, including implementation of mining plans.
On-going review and optimization of mining related key performance efficiency indicators
Performing GPS quarry surveys
Updating mineral reserves
Working closely with plant Quality Manager to ensure quality and consistency of the quarried material
Supporting permitting and compliance activities
Supporting the quarry personnel with optimizing mobile equipment operations, including completion of time studies
Perform training of quarry personnel as needed
Completing internal and external quarry operations reports
