The Mining Engineer is responsible for ensuring safe work systems and procedures are practiced and adhered to, maintaining an exemplary standard of housekeeping, and actively promoting safe production through the implementation of best practice methods. This role involves leading by example, collaborating with the Site Management team, and ensuring clear communication between all stakeholders. The engineer will produce short and medium-term mine designs and development schedules, complete economic evaluations, and provide plans and design layouts to meet production requirements and engineering standards. They will also develop weekly and monthly plans, ensure geological and survey data are updated, monitor mine performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and assist in preparing reports. Additionally, the role includes designing and producing long-hole drilling and blast layouts, reconciling stoping areas, working with Underground Supervisors to develop daily and weekly plans, documenting delays, facilitating meetings, ensuring plan approvals, and working with the Underground Department to balance manpower and equipment schedules. Conceptual mine plans for reserves, detailed production schedules, and cost-efficient mine plans using financial and economic data are also key responsibilities. The engineer must comply with all relevant acts, regulations, policies, and procedures, and promote compliance with the company's Environment and Safety and Health Programs.
