About The Position

Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. Heidelberg Materials is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Quarry Mining Engineering Intern to join our team. This internship provides hands-on exposure to aggregate mining operations and the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in a dynamic production environment. The selected candidate will gain practical experience supporting quarry operations, process improvements, mine planning, and operational efficiency initiatives.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Demonstrated interest in mining, aggregates, heavy industrial operations, or construction materials.
Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and make sound recommendations.
Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
Commitment to workplace safety and willingness to work in both office and field environments.

Responsibilities

Assist with quarry planning, mine design, and production analysis activities.
Support operational improvement projects focused on safety, efficiency, and productivity.
Collect, analyze, and interpret production, equipment, and operational performance data.
Participate in field inspections and collaborate with quarry personnel to identify process optimization opportunities.
Contribute to environmental, regulatory, and safety compliance initiatives across site operations.
