As a MineStar Application Specialist, you’ll be stationed at Imperial Oil’s Kearl oil sands mine in Alberta, working directly with our customers to support and maintain a fleet of Caterpillar autonomous haul trucks. The Kearl mine is a large-scale operation where traditional haul trucks have been successfully converted to autonomous mode. With over 81 fully autonomous trucks, it stands as one of the largest autonomous mining fleets in the world, showcasing cutting-edge technology and innovation in the field. Requirements

  • Technical knowledge in mining technology, mechanical/electrical systems, and machine control systems.
  • Field Support Experience in post-sales hardware maintenance and troubleshooting, with a strong focus on product support.
  • Skilled in working with dealers to resolve technical issues and ensure effective maintenance.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset to identify root causes and drive solutions.
  • Communication & Collaboration Skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and customers.
  • Analytical Skills: Proven experience in building and maintaining dashboards using tools like Power BI to enhance visibility and support data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing MineStar® Command and optimizing system performance.
  • Building trusted relationships with customers through close internal and external collaboration.
  • Supporting and advising MineStar® Command Office Supervisors, Builders, Controllers, and Pit Technicians on all aspects of system performance, with a focus on minimizing downtime.
  • Providing technical support to Supervisors and Technicians responsible for on-board maintenance of the MineStar® Command System.
  • Assisting with hardware and software installation and configuration, including the development of Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes.
  • Measuring, benchmarking, and reporting on system performance, while identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Creating training materials and process documentation to support ongoing learning and operational excellence.
  • Executing continuous improvement projects to optimize production and efficiency.
