About The Position

The part-time Minimum Data Set Assistant (MDS Asst-RN) aids in conducting and coordinating the development, completion, and transmission of resident assessments in accordance with state requirements and the facility’s policies and goals. The role supports effective MDS processes, resident care, and regulatory compliance. The position works with interdisciplinary teams to gather data and support resident care planning, while helping maintain accurate resident information and monitoring changes that may require MDS updates. Requirements

1–3 years of MDS experience.
Nursing degree from an accredited college.
Current, unencumbered RN license in the state.
Knowledge of clinical standards of practice, regulations, and reimbursement governing long-term care and Medicare participation.
Knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, terminology, laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.

Nice To Haves

Experience providing care to multiple residents.
Experience in a skilled nursing environment.
Experience with PDPM (Patient-Driven Payment Model).

Responsibilities

Assist in completing the Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessment for all residents.
Coordinate the MDS process and ensure accurate, timely submission in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to gather data and support resident care planning.
Ensure resident data is entered correctly and maintain its accuracy and integrity.
Monitor resident status and identify changes that may require MDS assessment updates.
Assist with compliance with MDS regulatory requirements, including Medicare participation.
