About The Position

Launch your career at the intersection of mining, technology, and real‑world impact. Caterpillar’s MineStar Solutions team—part of our Resource Industries organization—is looking for early‑career professionals ready to grow into future technical and customer‑facing leaders through the MineStar Training Development Program. This two‑year rotational program is designed to give you hands‑on exposure across the full MineStar ecosystem—from operations in active mining environments to training, implementation, engineering, and customer support. You’ll develop deep product knowledge, real field experience, and a strong professional foundation—then transition into a long‑term career role within Caterpillar.

Requirements

  • Degree completed by program start in IT, Mechanical, Electrical, Mining Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 2.8 GPA (on a 4.0 scale, no rounding) for degree holders
  • Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States.
  • Ability to complete Mine Health and Safety Administration (MSHA) training
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites and work in industrial field environments

Responsibilities

  • Learn how technical knowledge is transformed into effective learning experiences.
  • Observe and gather training best practices.
  • Partner with MineStar trainers during live classes.
  • Create, review, and validate training materials.
  • Deliver course training to an internal Caterpillar audience.
  • Get behind the scenes of MineStar customer support operations.
  • Work within the MineStar Call Center.
  • Job shadow Support Analysts to understand troubleshooting workflows.
  • Build strong relationships with dealers and customers.
  • Experience MineStar solutions in action—where technology meets the mine site.
  • Travel to customer sites and work within open‑pit and underground mining environments.
  • Job shadow Application Specialists, Controllers, Builders, and Pit Tech teams.
  • Dive deeper into MineStar technology and troubleshooting.
  • Job shadow MineStar Service Engineers.
  • Build strong product knowledge and diagnostic skills.
  • See how MineStar solutions come to life at customer sites.
  • Support implementation planning, scheduling, and rollout activities.
  • Assist with handover to Product Support teams.
