Requirements
- Extensive experience in mining occupations
- Ability to operate LHD (Load-Haul-Dump) units, mechanized bolters, scissor trucks, shotcrete sprayers and other support vehicles.
- Ability to operate mining equipment to load, haul and dump ore or waste.
- Ability to haul and dump broken ore and waste.
- Ability to assist Jumbo Drill Operator with site prep and tool handling.
- Ability to handle ore samples and drilling materials.
- Ability to support installation of ground support and mine.
Responsibilities
- Inspect existing underground headings, scale loose rocks and install ground support to stabilize rock mass and ensure safety.
- Operate scaling bars, pneumatic hand-held drills, and rubber-tired underground mobile equipment such as LHD (Load-Haul-Dump) units, mechanized bolters, scissor trucks, shotcrete sprayers and other support vehicles in a confined environment.
- Load development rounds, install or fix existing mine services such as pipe, vent, cables and fans.
- Operate mining equipment to load, haul and dump ore or waste from development and/or production area in a safe manner.
- Haul and dump broken ore and waste from development or production headings.
- Assist Jumbo Drill Operator with site prep and tool handling.
- Handle ore samples and drilling materials.
- Support installation of ground support and mine.
