About The Position

West Red Lake Gold Mines Ltd. is seeking a Miner 2 - Jackleg/Stopper Bolter to join their team. This role reports to the Underground Mine Supervisor and involves operating equipment and managing materials within assigned work areas. The successful candidate will perform various duties contributing to the underground mining cycle, adhering to safe work procedures, and supporting production, operational, and safety targets. Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of underground hard rock mining experience, preferably in a jackleg / stopper bolting role.
  • Demonstrated experience installing ground support in development, deck, and sill mining environments.
  • Knowledge of underground mining methods, ground control practices, and mine safety procedures.
  • Strong commitment to safety standards and operational excellence and maintaining high housekeeping standards.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Committed to continuous improvement and adherence to company policies and provincial regulations.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing demanding work in underground mining conditions.
  • Must be willing to complete a criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug and alcohol test.

  • Underground Common Core Modules are considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate jackleg and stopper drills to install ground support in deck and sill mining areas.
  • Install rock bolts, screen, straps, and other ground support systems as required.
  • Conduct workplace inspections and identify ground control hazards.
  • Scale loose rock and ensure work areas are safe prior to commencing work.
  • Read and interpret mine plans, ground support standards, and supervisor instructions.
  • Perform equipment inspections and complete pre-operational safety checks.
  • Participate in blasting cycles and coordinate work with other underground crews.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in all assigned work areas.
  • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and equipment defects promptly.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of underground mining operations.
