About The Position

Northern Star Resources Limited is seeking an experienced Underground Miner - Mucker Operator for their Pogo operation in Alaska. Requirements

• Experience in underground hard rock mining techniques.
• Minimum 3 years of experience operating underground loaders/muckers.
• Basic mechanical knowledge.
• Good communication skills, including ability to read and speak English.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices.
• Good comprehension of safe operating procedures, safety rules, policies, emergency procedures, and MSHA requirements.
• Must pass a post offer physical and drug test, as well as a background check.

Nice To Haves

• Experience operating underground remote muckers.
• Ability to provide leadership and training to new team members.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate underground equipment.
• Perform various mining tasks, including loading UG Haul trucks, mucking face rounds, and assisting in road work.
• Conduct post-blast inspections and wash down all headings prior to commencing work.
• Muck development headings to standard.
• Perform clean-up following a blast and maintain the condition of all roads underground.
• Production mucking, including tele-remote, from stopes to muck bay.
• Load haul trucks.
• Accurate recording of haulage movement.
• Minimize equipment down-time and maximize productivity.
• Ensure all safety related activities are undertaken in accordance with Company policy and MSHA requirements including Hazard ID's, pre-start checks, pre-start meetings, and incident reporting.
• Assist with fault finding and preventative maintenance.
• Assessing and monitoring of ground conditions.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Shift Supervisor.
