Responsibilities

Lead safe and efficient underground production, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Oversee mine ventilation systems, including airflow, gas monitoring, and dust control.
Ensure effective ground control programs in collaboration with Engineering and Geology teams.
Direct short- and long-term mine planning, including stope design, sequencing, and resource optimization.
Maintain underground infrastructure (e.g., dewatering, ventilation, roads, electrical) and coordinate capital improvements.
Manage operational and capital budgets, ensuring effective use of labor, materials, and equipment.
Support the use of digital tools and track KPIs related to production, safety, and cost performance.
Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies and oversee implementation of corrective actions when needed.
Support emergency preparedness and contribute to mine rescue planning and readiness.
Provide leadership, coaching, and training to supervisors and frontline staff.
Promote environmental stewardship and ensure alignment with sustainability goals.
Maintain positive labor relations and uphold the terms of the collective agreement.
