Requirements
- Post secondary education in a related discipline.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Commitment to fostering a safe, efficient, and collaborative work environment.
- At least 10 years of experience in open pit mining.
- Driver’s License (Required)
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily activities of Mine Operations Supervisors, Mine Dispatchers and frontline Mine Operations employees.
- Develop budgets and performance targets for the department.
- Direct and coordinate the execution of projects and operational plans to meet safety, quality, and cost objectives.
- Manage the selection of new equipment for the mine.
- Continuously monitor key performance indicators to optimize efficiency, quality, and cost.
- Complete performance management tools and evaluations for direct reports.
- Ensure compliance with the collective agreement guidelines.
- Promote teamwork, high performance, and environmental stewardship throughout the operation.
- Provide ongoing support and constructive feedback to the team to drive continuous improvement.
- Communicate effectively to keep the team informed of issues or changes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
